IT support for practices that run AdvancedMD.

Galleon is an independent managed IT provider. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by AdvancedMD; we support practices that run it.

The Reality

Cloud EMR does not mean nothing left to manage.

AdvancedMD lives in the cloud, which removes the server from your office and quietly moves every remaining failure point onto your side of the wire: the internet connection the whole practice rides, the workstations and browsers the system runs in, the printers and scanners and card readers it has to talk to, and the identity security guarding the logins. When AdvancedMD "goes down" for a practice, the cause is almost always local, and the vendor's support desk cannot see your building. We can.

How We Support You

Six places we focus for every AdvancedMD practice.

Internet that does not take the practice down.

A cloud EMR makes your connection the single point of failure, so we engineer around it: business-grade primary service, automatic failover, and a network that keeps the front desk working through a carrier hiccup.

Workstation and browser readiness.

AdvancedMD sessions live in the browser and its companion apps, so updates, extensions, and profiles can break charting overnight. We standardize and manage the endpoint layer so Monday mornings are boring.

Printing, scanning, and devices.

Superbills, labels, document scanning, signature pads, and card readers are where cloud practices actually bleed time. We make the physical layer work with the cloud layer and keep it working.

Billing operation support.

AdvancedMD practices often run serious billing operations, in-house or with a billing partner. We build the secure access those teams need, including VDI for remote and offshore billers, without widening your attack surface.

Identity security.

With everything behind a login, stolen credentials are the whole ballgame. MFA enforced everywhere, access reviewed when staff change, and EDR on the endpoints those logins come from.

Downtime and continuity planning.

Vendor outages and internet failures still happen. A printed downtime kit, a tested hotspot failover, and a documented plan keep patients moving while the connection comes back.

Compliance

In a cloud practice, the audit moves to your endpoints.

When the application and database are the vendor's responsibility, what remains in scope for your risk analysis is everything local: the devices, the network, the identities, and the people. That is precisely the layer auditors and cyber insurers now probe hardest, and it is the layer we document and defend.

Common Questions

The questions practice managers actually ask us.

Everything the vendor cannot see: your internet, network, workstations, printers and devices, logins, security, and downtime planning. Cloud moves the server out of your office; it does not move the practice.

Usually the endpoint or the network path, not the platform: an aging workstation, a cluttered browser, Wi-Fi contention, or an undersized connection at peak hours. We profile and fix the local layer.

Yes. We build secure, HIPAA-conscious access for distributed billers, including virtual desktops that keep PHI in the environment instead of on personal machines.

With failover in place, the practice rides through most carrier outages automatically. For the rest, the documented downtime plan and tested hotspot path keep scheduling and intake moving.

Yes. Remote support starts within 15 minutes per our SLA from either office, with on-site dispatch from Richardson for DFW and from West Houston for the Houston metro.
