IT support for dental practices that run Dentrix.
Galleon is an independent managed IT provider. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Dentrix; we support practices that run it.
Dentrix runs the practice, and a server in your closet runs Dentrix.
Classic Dentrix is a server-based system: a database in your office that every operatory, every X-ray capture, and every checkout touches all day. When that server ages, the whole practice slows with it, and when it fails without a tested backup, the practice stops. Practices moving to Dentrix Ascend trade the server for total dependence on the internet connection instead. We run both models for dental practices across DFW and Houston, and we handle the part the software vendor never will: the hardware, network, imaging devices, and security underneath.
Six places we focus for every Dentrix practice.
The Dentrix server, done right.
Sized correctly, patched on a schedule, monitored, and replaced before it fails instead of after. The database that runs your practice should not live on a machine nobody thinks about.
Imaging integration.
Sensors, pano units, and intraoral cameras have to capture straight into the chart. We manage the drivers, the imaging software, and the operatory workstations so a sensor problem does not eat a hygiene column.
Tested backup and recovery.
A nightly backup of the Dentrix database and document center, verified by actual restore tests, with a documented recovery target. Dental practices without this are one drive failure from rebuilding charts by hand.
Operatory and front-desk workstations.
Managed, patched, and standardized, so every room behaves the same and the 7 a.m. first patient is not the daily systems test.
HIPAA and PCI together.
Dental practices process cards all day in the same environment that holds patient records. We build the segmentation and controls that satisfy both rulebooks at once.
Dentrix Ascend readiness.
For practices on or moving to Ascend, we shift the focus to internet failover, browser and endpoint health, and the peripherals that still live in the room.
Dental is where HIPAA and PCI overlap hardest.
Patient records and payment cards flow through the same front desk, often through the same workstation. Auditors, card processors, and cyber insurers each look at that machine with different checklists. We run environments that pass all three without the practice having to think about which rulebook is asking.
The questions practice managers actually ask us.
Yes. Server-based Dentrix and cloud-based Ascend put the IT burden in different places, and we run both, including the IT side of moving from one to the other. Henry Schein One remains the software vendor; we own your environment.
Usually the server or network under load, not the software: an aging server, a fragmented database drive, or imaging traffic sharing the same undersized network. Profiling the environment finds it.
That is one of the most common dental tickets we take. Sensor dropouts almost always trace to drivers, USB power management, or workstation updates, all of which stop happening on managed machines.
The database, the document center, and the imaging files, backed up nightly to a location outside the office and proven by restore tests. A backup nobody has ever restored is a hope, not a plan.
Yes. Remote support starts within 15 minutes per our SLA from either office, with on-site dispatch from Richardson for DFW and from West Houston for the Houston metro.
